Position Summary:
As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will apply your nursing expertise and clinical judgment to deliver care and intravenous therapy in accordance with UPMC standards and protocols. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will be instrumental in the planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care for patients. You will also participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, working alongside the healthcare team to achieve favorable patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize sound nursing judgment informed by your education and experience
  • Engage in the planning, execution, and assessment of nursing care
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures
  • Develop patient-centered care plans and maintain thorough documentation
  • Participate in activities aimed at improving patient safety and satisfaction
  • Support fellow team members and assist in mentoring new staff
  • Pursue opportunities for ongoing learning and professional growth

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Successful completion of an IV therapy training program
  • Proven understanding of patient care principles and practices
  • Ability to thrive in a healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Licenses and Certifications:
Current LPN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification, Act 34 clearance
