POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrician is responsible for diagnosing and rectifying electrical and control system issues, ensuring optimal performance through repairs and adjustments as necessary. This role involves the testing, installation, replacement, and modification of electrical components.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Install and maintain the electrical infrastructure of the facility to ensure reliable power supply for machinery, equipment, lighting, and other electrical devices.
§ Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
§ Monitor and maintain controls, valves, and calibrations to ensure proper functionality.
§ Identify, isolate, and resolve electrical issues, including repairs and replacements of controls, motors, switches, PLCs, servo drives, variable frequency drives, distributed control systems, and instrumentation.
§ Execute emergency repairs to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
§ Plan installations according to engineering specifications and project drawings.
§ Utilize manuals and instructions for installations, system layouts, and modifications to complete project tasks.
§ Design and implement projects aimed at enhancing safety, quality, production efficiency, and ergonomics.
§ Delegate tasks and provide guidance to electricians and contractors involved in projects.
§ Perform additional maintenance tasks as required.
§ Follow all safety protocols, particularly lockout/tagout procedures.
§ Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure.
§ Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures and safety policies.
§ Foster effective communication and teamwork with production operators and supervisors.
§ Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
§ Understand and adhere to environmental and safety policies of the facility.
§ Participate in training programs to improve environmental and safety performance.
§ Execute assigned tasks in accordance with environmental procedures and work instructions.
§ Recognize the significant environmental impacts of job activities and the importance of following specified work instructions.
§ Be aware of the location of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) documents.
§ Exhibit initiative and sound judgment in all tasks.
§ Maintain safe work practices consistently.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
§ Physical dexterity: ability to lift, bend, squat, and reach.
§ Capability to climb ladders exceeding 10 feet in height.
§ Ability to walk throughout the facility and stand for extended periods.
§ Proficient in reading for information and troubleshooting equipment.
WORKLOAD DISTRIBUTION:
50% - Install, repair, and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment.
20% - Supervise, prioritize, and assign daily tasks to junior mechanics and contractors.
20% - Troubleshoot machinery and production-related issues.
10% - Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:

§ Quick identification of minute differences and issues.
§ Maintain concentration and clarity in a distracting environment.
