Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients and developing, evaluating, and modifying individualized care plans. You will provide care through the application of nursing processes, therapeutic interventions, and collaboration with the healthcare team. This position requires a commitment to achieving optimal patient outcomes and maintaining high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
The following duties outline the primary responsibilities associated with this position:
- Deliver care to a specific patient population, demonstrating clinical expertise and a commitment to professional development.
- Be accountable for patient care processes and outcomes, collaborating with team members to enhance group practice.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care that meets the needs of patients and their families.
- Engage in initiatives aimed at improving Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI).
- Adhere to regulatory standards and support compliance activities.
- Assist in decision-making processes and serve as a primary coordinating nurse when necessary.
- Promote a safe and effective patient-centered care environment.
- Participate in team initiatives that foster a healthy work environment.
Ensure patient safety through active participation in safety initiatives and reporting any risks or adverse events.
- Take corrective actions to mitigate risks to patient safety.
- Report incidents to the appropriate authorities.
- Identify and communicate potential risks within clinical processes.
Education & Experience
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maryland or eligibility through Compact state agreements.
- Associate's degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of one year of RN experience.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required upon hire.
- Must fulfill all unit-specific certification requirements (PALS, ACLS, NRP).
- Maintain competencies relevant to the patient care setting and focus on professional growth.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate effectiveness as a collaborative team member.
- Ability to utilize computer systems for managing patient information.
- Support and model teamwork within the unit.
- Demonstrate knowledge of patient care principles across the lifespan and assess data reflective of patient needs.
- Willingness to adapt to the PRN RN Standardized Program as required.
