About Sea Level Labs Llc
">We are a small laboratory that provides testing services to our local community and clients across the country. Our typical working hours are from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. As we expand, we aim to maintain our current schedule while exploring opportunities for earlier morning or later evening shifts.
">Job Summary
">We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Specimen Technician to join our team. This role involves processing specimens in our laboratory, responding to client and staff inquiries, verifying client and specimen details, and ensuring accurate data capture. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
">Key Responsibilities
">- Verifying accuracy of client and specimen details
- Working with collectors and phlebotomists to ensure orders, pickups, and data accuracy
- Examining specimens for adequacy and appropriateness
- Capturing client and specimen data electronically
- Sanitizing work areas and benchtops
- Accessioning required data, ensuring order and requirements accuracy
- Labeling and preparing samples for lab staff
- Preparing specimens for reference laboratories
- Properly disposing of specimens at required times
- Assisting clients, collectors, and phlebotomists with inquiries regarding specimen requirements and turnaround times
- Complying with applicable laws, regulations, company procedures, and policies
- Providing customer service via effective communication with clients, providers, and vendors
Additional Responsibilities
">- Maintaining operation of other department functions, including emergency response and attendance at meetings outside regular working hours as needed
- Performing other duties assigned by Laboratory Management
Requirements
">The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education, along with proficiency in MS Office Word and Excel. They should also have outstanding organizational skills, ability to perform at a high level of accuracy, and be comfortable handling biological materials. Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or related environment is preferred but not necessary. The salary for this position is estimated at $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
