Senior GM Vehicle Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GM Vehicle Technologist to join our team at North American Truck & Trailer, Inc.
About the Job
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with General Motors (GM) vehicles and a strong understanding of GM-specific systems and technology. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, including the ability to diagnose complex issues, perform repairs and maintenance, and stay up-to-date with the latest software updates and technical service bulletins.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Diagnostics and Repairs: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately, interpreting diagnostic codes, data, and computer-generated reports to diagnose problems.
- Parts Replacement and Installation: Replace and install GM-specific parts and components, ensuring proper fit and functionality, following GM repair procedures and specifications for all replacements.
- Software Updates and Programming: Update and reprogram vehicle software, modules, and control units as needed to address performance, safety, and emissions issues, staying current with GM's latest software updates and technical service bulletins.
- Quality Assurance and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all services performed, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings, completing service reports and warranty claim documentation accurately.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain necessary repairs, provide estimates, and address concerns, offering expert advice on vehicle maintenance and recommending GM-approved services.
Requirements
- Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a GM-certified automotive technician training program is required, along with valid certification as a General Motors Certified Technician.
- Experience and Skills: Extensive experience working with GM vehicles, proficiency in using GM diagnostic tools and software, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Demands: Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
