We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and testing complex electromechanical systems for aircraft emergency power generation.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and test electromechanical systems, including Ram Air Turbines (RATs), to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Install, calibrate, and operate various types of instrumentation, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum systems.
- Use basic measuring gauges, such as micrometers, plug or thread gauges, to ensure accurate measurements.
- Demonstrate proficiency in understanding test specifications, changes to test specifications, recorded tapes, and related test inspection forms and procedures.
- Fabricate test equipment or test hardware to blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, or other instructions using hand and power tools.
- Perform basic knowledge of tube and pipe fabrication, including brazing, soldering, and tube bending.
- Work to specifications and use instrumentation and test hardware to install test units or systems, conduct tests, and/or perform inspection functions or experimental, prototype, qualification, or production electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, or hydro-mechanical products and fluid pumps with accuracy.
- Accurately and legibly document results, including collection of SPC data as applicable.
- Have a basic understanding of the test to be run, the associated test equipment, the unit under test, and the unit's capabilities.
- Be able to read and interpret data from test tapes, traces, or other instrumentation, including automatic data acquisition systems with assistance.
- Work in close cooperation with supervision, engineering, and other support personnel to resolve problems related to test or quality.
- Provide interface with customer or government personnel as required.
- Maintain test equipment of other lab assets as applicable and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform shop floor control as required.
- Maintain record retention, including SPC data and other quality paperwork for all testing.
- Maintain break of inspection on test stands as applicable.
- Provide revision (or version) control of all test specifications, test procedures, applicable software or hardware, and other quality documents to accept data and perform ENS functions.
- Certify that the tests performed are in accordance with the specified requirements and to the best of their ability that the data obtained is an accurate representation of the test results.
- Be capable of performing quality control self-assessments on the test lab areas.
- Develop, review, and revise Test Lab Instructions in collaboration with engineering.
- Work with and assist Engineering in testing and testing procedures for pre-production and qualification programs.
- Work with and assist in maintenance of test log data base.
- High School Diploma/GED
- U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Applicant must be able to obtain Operator Certification
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Previous experience in aviation or aerospace assembly
