Key Responsibilities

The Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering, coordinating, planning, and assessing patient care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, adhering to the established nursing process framework.

Evaluation is performed through comprehensive data collection, assessment, and prioritization of patient needs, including the evaluation of nursing care outcomes and interventions.

The RN will also coordinate patient education and oversee the care provided by other healthcare team members.


Core Duties Include:
  • Conducting thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments, developing care plans, implementing treatments, and evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Administering medications safely in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Serving as the primary contact for patient care coordination across various hospital departments.
  • Acting as an advocate for patient safety by engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinating care for family members or caregivers.
  • Providing nursing care related to life-supporting technologies, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Managing critically ill patients with complex health issues.
  • Utilizing the AACN Synergy Model to support and promote patient stability across their lifespan.
  • Making informed, evidence-based decisions in response to rapidly changing patient conditions.
  • Addressing the unique needs of patients and families facing unexpected health challenges.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a current RN license in the state of practice or be covered by a compact license.

Certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and TNCC are preferred, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Experience requirements include at least one year of RN experience, with preference given to candidates with experience in critical care or emergency departments.
