Overview:
The Nursing Team Supervisor will hold operational responsibility for a designated nursing area/unit during a specific shift. This role involves providing direct nursing care approximately fifty percent of the time. Shifts may vary and could include weekends and holidays.

The Nursing Team Supervisor is tasked with planning, organizing, and directing nursing care for their shift, aligning with Mercyhealth's Mission, Vision, Values, and Philosophy.

This position requires maintaining clinical expertise in the assigned area and delivering direct patient care based on the needs of the unit.

The Nursing Team Supervisor ensures that the overall patient experience is exceptional, focusing on both the Quality of Care and the patient’s perception of services as defined by system dashboard goals.

This role also includes responsibilities such as participating in the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring of the nursing team. Additionally, the Supervisor will provide input on performance evaluations and corrective actions as necessary. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Participates in and supports staffing plans, staff evaluations, orientation of new personnel, ongoing education and development, competency assessments, and appropriate scheduling based on patient acuity.

Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

BSN or a commitment to complete a BSN through an accredited completion program upon hire.

Certification/Licensure:
Licensed as an RN in the state of practice.

Current CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days (Other certifications may be required based on unit needs: ACLS, PALS, NALS)
