Position Overview

The Security Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity and safety of the company's facilities and staff. This position encompasses responsibilities within both the distribution center and retail environments, ensuring a secure atmosphere while supporting the asset protection initiatives of the associated retail locations.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties: The following are essential responsibilities for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.

  • Monitors and patrols the premises to ensure the safety of individuals and property.
  • Identifies and reports any suspicious activities or situations to prevent losses.
  • Addresses policy violations professionally to guide appropriate behavior.
  • Conducts inspections of buildings and access points to maintain security.
  • Assists in managing trespassers or policy violators as directed by supervisors.
  • Regulates vehicular traffic by directing drivers effectively.
  • Oversees authorized traffic in the distribution center's truck yard, adhering to company protocols.
  • Supports investigative efforts by conducting surveillance and gathering relevant information.
  • Documents observations and incidents through detailed reporting.
  • Ensures compliance with legal standards to uphold the organization's reputation.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the Inventory/Asset Protection team.
  • Enhances awareness of company policies and procedures among staff.
  • Proposes innovative ideas to improve job functions and best practices.
  • Provides cross-departmental support as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of two years of relevant security experience is preferred, with a solid understanding of security operations and protocols. Experience in retail or distribution center security is advantageous. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is essential. Experience in report writing is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position is competitive and will be determined based on various factors, including education, relevant experience, and market conditions. Living Spaces reserves the right to adjust this pay range as necessary.
