Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ski Technician to join our team at Catamount Ski Resort LLC. As a Ski Technician, you will be responsible for tuning and repairing alpine skis and snowboards for our guests and rental department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose issues with skis and snowboards to determine the necessary repairs.
  • Estimate labor costs and provide quotes to customers.
  • Educate customers on the benefits of regular ski maintenance and recommend services.
  • Sharpen edges and repair bases on skis and snowboards using machines and hand tuning techniques.
  • Apply condition-specific wax to skis and snowboards to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage the inventory of ski tuning supplies and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform routine maintenance on shop tools and equipment.
  • Conduct sales for tuning services using our point-of-sale system.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in ski tuning or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of ski and snowboard makes and brands.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work around loud machinery and be physically fit.
