Job Summary

The Local CDL Driver is responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of customer materials within a 100-mile radius from the assigned facility. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a Class B straight truck with 26' bed to deliver orders/materials/product to customers, both internal and external, while following Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety rules.
  • Load and unload company truck and secure loads.
  • Maneuver heavy materials with the use of a forklift, pallet jack, and/or hand truck.
  • Assist in warehouse operations as needed.
  • Comply with company and DOT policies and procedures, giving special attention to safety regulations.
  • Complete pre-trip inspections, maintain a legal and accurate logbook, retain fuel and toll receipts, maintain cleanliness of truck cab, document and log work/rest periods, and complete post-trip inspections.
  • Check gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions, ensure locks on trailers are working properly, and conduct inspection of vehicle before and during trips to determine problems that may be occurring and promptly report all problems to supervisor.
Working Conditions:

This position spends 15-25% of the time outside of the facility and 75-85% of time in the warehouse. Personal protective equipment is regularly required for this position and may include steel or composite toe boots, safety glasses, and cut-resistant gloves and arm guards.
