This is a challenging role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. As a CNC Machinist at GE Aviation, you will be responsible for setting up and operating complex machinery to perform diversified machining operations on turbine jet engine components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work from detailed process instruction sheets, drawings, and technical documents to perform machining operations.
- Use advanced knowledge of standard and specialized practices to ensure high-quality products that meet all quality assurance standards.
- Measure work using precision instruments such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
- Ensure smooth product flow in the repair process and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machines to perform complex machining operations on a diversified line of work.
- Hold close tolerances and surface finishes as required.
- Assist with training of new associates and adhere to all safety procedures and practices.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 18 months of CNC machining experience or 30 college credit hours in CNC operations from an accredited college/university.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language and interpret and follow written procedures.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of measuring instruments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in CNC Machining or 2-year certificate in CNC operations.
- Proven experience and willingness to be self-directed and identify improvement processes.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively with others in a team setting.
