Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center in Wilson County, NC. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Registered Nurse and Medical Team in meeting each patient's practicable level of independence and function through medical and psychosocial intervention.
  • Administer medication and evaluate patient response to care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and assist in managing difficult behavior.
  • Provide guidance to Health Care Technicians (Nurse Aide I) during daily routines.
  • Respond to potentially life-threatening situations in a calm and orderly manner.
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Working knowledge of nursing techniques, procedures, theory, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health, and safety practices.
  • Skill in routine medical procedures, including basic wound care, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and preparing and administering medications.
  • Skill in guiding and counseling subordinate staff on daily routines.
  • Skill in providing direct nursing care within the scope of practice.
  • Knowledge of observing and evaluating patient condition.
  • Knowledge of instructing patients in routine medical care.
