Position Overview:
Kaiser Permanente is in search of a skilled MRI Technologist II.

Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist II operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to capture detailed cross-sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality imaging while adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct patient imaging studies following established protocols, ensuring the appropriate placement of coils near the area of interest.
2. Operate imaging equipment proficiently, including inputting commands for scan sequences, adjusting settings, and capturing images.
3. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, addressing any concerns with professionalism and empathy.
4. Ensure the safety of patients and staff by enforcing safety protocols, monitoring for hazardous materials, and overseeing patient interactions through surveillance systems.
5. Mentor and train new MRI Technologists and students, sharing expertise in MRI procedures.
6. May supervise and guide other MRI staff in the absence of a supervising technologist.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of two years of continuous experience as an MRI Technologist, demonstrating proficiency in all essential duties.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within six months of hire
- Basic Life Support certification

Additional Skills:
Proven ability to instruct and guide other technologists, with strong communication skills for effective information sharing in both individual and group settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
ARRT certification is preferred.
