Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms.
  • Preparation: Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, explaining treatment plans and physician instructions.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications, including injections and IV therapy, in accordance with licensure.
  • Basic Care: Provide essential patient care, such as wound dressing and catheterization.
  • Specimen Handling: Collect and process patient specimens accurately.
  • Room Maintenance: Clean and prepare medical treatment areas for patient visits.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule follow-up appointments and communicate any delays effectively.

Documentation:

  • Accurately enter patient information into the electronic health record system.
  • Manage physician's desktop tasks efficiently.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with clerical duties, including appointment scheduling and obtaining pre-authorizations.
  • Manage medical supplies and inventory.
  • Work under the supervision of a physician or Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
  • Current LPN licensure in the state of New York.
  • Preferred skills in IV therapy and phlebotomy.
  • Completion of competency checklist within the first three months of employment.
