Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL Delivery Driver Trainer to join our team at PFG Customized Distribution. As a Trainer, you will be responsible for training and re-training delivery drivers on all aspects of the delivery driver job duties. You will utilize company training guides, manuals, checklists, and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, safety, and DOT regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver hands-on training that allows for maximum transfer of knowledge while ensuring customer needs, service times, labor, and transportation costs are met and within guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing and timely feedback to assigned driver trainees and supervisory staff, including positive reinforcement and constructive corrective actions.
  • Work with new driver hires and experienced drivers in classroom and/or field settings to prepare them for a successful professional driver career.
  • Supplement PFG Driver Training Manual with local programs specific to the location, products, and reports used in that market.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • 1-2 years of CDL route driving experience
  • Route delivery driver experience specifically in foodservice distribution industry with in-depth knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Computerized fleet operations management systems knowledge (i.e. PeopleNet)
  • Valid CDL A and DOT Health Card
  • Must be 21 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates/2-year technical; Technical school, Associates degree or other certification in learning and development training methods
  • At least 2 years of route driving experience with PFG
  • Transportation experience specifically in foodservice distribution industry route delivery
  • Small group and one-on-one training experience
