Estimator - Heavy Civil and General Contractor

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Actalent. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the success of our clients by providing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Review incoming bid solicitations for relevancy and fit, and maintain an updated bid schedule.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, and determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
- Assist in the preparation of preliminary schedules as necessary for estimates, and prepare detailed takeoffs.
- Consult with clients, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to develop a complete scope of work and estimate.
- Work with engineers to develop bid designs for delegated design scopes, and obtain knowledge of project and appropriate regulations required to construct the project.
- Review and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and completeness, and utilize and maintain historical data in preparation of bids.
- Monitor client changes and advise the estimating team of all changes in scope during the estimate period, and follow awarded contracts as assigned.
- Work with the project management team on final buyout of materials and subcontractors, and prepare turnover packages for awarded projects.
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current and accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in estimating within a heavy civil or general contractor setting.
