Job Summary

The University of Iowa is seeking a skilled Cosmetologist to join our team at the Fourth Floor Salon. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional cosmetology services to patients, guests, and staff, ensuring a positive and rejuvenating experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality cosmetology services, including hair cutting, styling, and coloring, as well as skin care and nail treatments.
  • Use proper techniques and equipment to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient services and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and meet daily service and retail goals.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest cosmetology trends and techniques.
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice as a Cosmetologist in Iowa.
  • Knowledge of cosmetology principles and practices, including hair replacement techniques and wig services.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading or supervising staff in a salon or service-oriented setting.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
