POSITION: Resident Care Assistant
REPORTS TO: Health and Wellness Director
FLSA: Hourly
OUR PURPOSE: We are dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors, fostering an environment where comfort, connection, and happiness flourish.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Resident Care Assistant is responsible for delivering essential personal care and support services to ensure the comfort and well-being of residents. This includes assisting with daily living activities, recreational programs, housekeeping, and meal services, all in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement daily care plans addressing all aspects of personal care and daily living.
- Facilitate scheduled activities for residents.
- Assist residents during meal times, ensuring their needs are met.
- Maintain awareness of residents' locations within the community.
- Actively listen and respond to the needs of residents and team members.
- Monitor residents' health status and communicate any changes to the nursing staff and Health and Wellness Director.
- Promote and respect the independence and dignity of each resident.
- Keep accurate records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Notify the Health and Wellness Director of any supply or equipment needs.
- Share insights and observations regarding departmental operations with the Health and Wellness Director.
- Participate in all required employee and departmental meetings and training sessions.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks as needed, reporting any safety concerns.
- Assist in maintaining a peaceful environment.
- Complete assigned tasks promptly and in accordance with established protocols.
- Report any unusual resident behavior to the Health and Wellness Director.
- Understand and uphold residents' rights.
- Adhere to infection control policies and safety protocols.
- Engage in ongoing training and development through the designated Learning Management System (LMS).
- Other related duties as assigned to support the community and enhance resident care and satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- STNA/CNA certification (preferred).
- CPR certification (preferred).
- Proficient understanding of the English language for effective communication.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to perform tasks both indoors and outdoors.
- Occasional sitting, with frequent lifting and carrying of weights up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent climbing, bending, squatting, and reaching.
- Ability to manipulate weights and perform physical tasks safely.
