Key Responsibilities:

The sanitation technician will be tasked with the thorough cleaning and sanitization of production equipment and the overall facility structure, including floors and overhead systems. This role involves:

  • Adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
  • Following Safety Data Sheet (SDS) protocols for the appropriate use of cleaning agents
  • Complying with personal protective equipment (PPE) regulations
  • Ensuring the cleaning schedule is executed as planned
  • Observing lock-out/tag-out procedures to guarantee equipment safety before commencing sanitation tasks
  • Executing cleaning and sanitizing processes according to Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
  • Removing waste from production areas
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and comprehend SDS, cleaning instructions, and GMP guidelines
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of food processing operations and equipment
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, adapting to production schedules while maintaining a non-disruptive presence
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, climb, and crawl as needed
  • Consistent attendance is crucial
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools
  • Possession of a valid forklift license or the ability to obtain one within three months of employment
