Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate and communicate the mission, vision, and values of the Stevens Point Area YMCA effectively.
- Welcome and assist all members, guests, and staff with a friendly demeanor, aiming to surpass member expectations.
- Implement strategies for member service and engagement that promote the recruitment of new members and the retention of current members in a friendly environment.
- Facilitate connections among members, linking them to programs and interests.
- Manage individual cash drawer and ensure accurate shift close-out.
- Conduct engaging tours for potential members to build rapport.
- Communicate membership options and benefits to prospective and existing members to encourage upgrades and enhance retention.
- Build meaningful relationships by getting to know members beyond basic greetings and understanding their needs.
- Notify members of account alerts in a respectful and professional manner.
- Report unusual situations or unresolved issues to the supervisor/director promptly.
- Adhere to all YMCA policies related to membership services.
- Understand and be able to execute emergency procedures, ensuring a safe environment.
- Participate in assigned meetings and training sessions, as well as special events.
- Support the YMCA annual support campaign with knowledge and enthusiasm.
- Assist in training new staff or providing additional training to current staff as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service, sales, and cash handling is preferred.
- Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Employee Orientations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively relate to and communicate with diverse groups from various social and economic backgrounds.
- Proficient computer skills.
- A genuine desire and ability to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
