Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Admission Nurse to join our team at HealthEcareers - Client. As an Admission Nurse, you will play a critical role in coordinating admissions and bed control activity, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate admissions and bed control activity to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Review incoming clinical information to determine appropriateness of admission and coordinate unit placement
  • Complete the nursing admission process, including physical assessment, interview, and medication reconciliation
  • Facilitate patient flow into acute care areas from the Emergency Department or Primary Care Physician
  • Assure patient placement complies with epidemiology requirements
  • Identify appropriate bed location based on patient special needs
  • Provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Certification highly desirable
  • Five (5) years of RN experience required
  • Six (6) months of experience at ECHN in the role of an RN highly preferred
Competencies
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly. The Admission Nurse must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, and possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
