Position Overview: As a Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of echocardiographic procedures to deliver essential data for the diagnosis and management of patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Registered Sonographer with ARDMS or an equivalent echo certifying body.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer with ARDMS.
Core Responsibilities: The following duties are indicative of the general nature of work performed in this role. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and tasks.
1. Clearly explains procedures to patients and addresses any questions they may have.
2. Applies and removes event monitors, providing patients with instructions on device usage.
3. Prepares patient skin according to established protocols to ensure optimal recording quality.
4. Removes monitors at designated times, completes necessary documentation, and follows procedures to download files into the system.
5. Accesses the computer system to retrieve and reproduce completed echocardiograms.
6. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of cardiothoracic anatomy and proper lead placement consistently.
7. Coordinates outpatient testing with inpatient needs, prioritizing emergency and urgent requests without direct supervision.
8. Maintains accurate records as required, documenting clinical and technical histories of patients.
9. Ensures all necessary consent, history, and screening forms are completed and verified prior to procedures.
10. Communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals, including patient referral sources, both verbally and in writing.
11. Manages supply levels, assists with the maintenance of departmental equipment, and reports any malfunctions to supervisors.

1. Must be able to tolerate working with and around unpleasant odors, and assist patients in mobility and positioning.
