Position Overview
We are collaborating with a leading consumer goods organization to find a skilled Accountant to join their finance team. This role is based in a vibrant downtown location and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Reporting Structure
The Accountant will report directly to the Director of Finance, who has a proven track record of advancement within the company. This position provides significant exposure to the CFO, ensuring ample opportunities for mentorship and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the month-end closing process, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Handle vendor payments, reconciliations, and sales tax obligations.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and conduct bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Complete monthly account reconciliations, including variance analysis.
- Support the Director of Finance with financial planning and analysis, including long-term planning and budgeting processes.
- Maintain the integrity of financial data while upholding confidentiality and ethical standards.

Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the consumer goods or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to innovate existing processes.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
- Experience with ERP systems or accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage Intacct is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- CPA certification or progress towards it is preferred.
