As a Diesel Mechanic at GFL, you will play a vital role in maintaining our fleet of Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles, ensuring they remain safe and road-ready for our drivers to continue providing top-notch waste removal and environmental services to customers.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance of heavy-duty diesel and CNG equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with Diesel and CNG vehicles
  • Perform routine inspections of brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts
  • Test drive trucks to identify malfunctions and ensure proper functioning
  • Conduct electronic diagnostics and repair electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles
  • Complete reports, work orders, and order parts as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements

  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other relevant federal and state regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization and external vendors
  • Experience using diagnostic software (preferred)
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (preferred)
  • ASE certifications beneficial
  • 3+ years of experience in diesel and CNG maintenance (where applicable)
