Job Summary

As a Skilled Laborer at MasTec Inc, you will play a vital role in assisting skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Skilled Craft Workers: Provide support to skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Measure and Mark Sites: Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight lines to ensure accurate measurements and markings.
  • Perform Physical Labor: Perform tasks involving physical labor, such as leveling earth, mixing concrete, and smoothing and finishing freshly poured cement or concrete.
  • Operate Equipment: Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
  • Maintain Safety Standards: Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures, taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles.
  • Travel to Job Sites: May be required to travel to different job sites on limited notice, maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
Qualifications
  • Education and Work Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work Experience: One to three years of experience in the field.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety, read and interpret documents, add and subtract two-digit numbers, and possess common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
