KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Regularly meet with assigned individuals to address their recovery objectives and needs.
  • Collaborate with agency and community partners to help individuals access necessary services and resources.
  • Assist in overcoming obstacles to independence and recovery.
  • Deliver person-centered support services that encompass education, encouragement, and motivation.
  • Guide participants in evaluating the risks and benefits of their choices while fostering mutual respect.
  • Employ a strengths-based approach that honors and acknowledges diverse pathways to recovery.
  • Maintain participant records in accordance with program and agency guidelines, including daily documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or equivalent certification is mandatory. Completion of Recovery Coach Academy training provided by the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) is required within nine months of employment. The role necessitates knowledge of Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Behavioral Health, and Co-Occurring treatment services, along with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as per Spurwink's Driving policy, are essential.
