About the Role

BBS Architects, Landscape Architects & Engineers is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Albany. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the design, production, and planning aspects of projects of varying types, complexities, scopes, and budgets.

As an Electrical Engineer at BBS, you will work under the supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager to contribute to projects from conceptual design through construction closeout. You will be responsible for understanding and designing building engineering systems, including building power, lighting, low-voltage systems, and photovoltaic project systems.

Key responsibilities will include producing construction documents and technical specifications for public bidding, following production schedules, and meeting multiple simultaneous deadlines. You will also work well with in-house design teams, including project architects and engineers, designers, technicians, and outside consultants, as well as Construction Managers and client representatives.

We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated self-starter with experience in the A/E/C environment. The selected candidate will have a 5-8 years of experience, preferably in the design of K-12/higher educational and other type of building engineering projects. The candidate will also have experience in working in teams with other professionals and a dedication to the profession with a strong, self-motivated desire to learn and progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Professional license or final stages of Engineer in Training Program (EIT)
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in an office environment
  • Strong design and technical skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Self-driven desire to learn and grow professionally, independence, ability to multi-task, and to meet multiple simultaneous deadlines
