Job SummaryThe EKG Telemetry Tech will be responsible for performing quality 12 Lead electrocardiograph (EKG) tests, maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance of EKG equipment, and performing all clerical duties as dictated by leadership. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities- Prepares, instructs, and educates patients on the EKG procedure
- Performs diagnostic procedures, including 12 Lead EKG tests
- Documents and maintains patient records
- Prepares work area and adapts behavior to specific patient populations
- Performs other related duties as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Preferred: Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) certification
This role requires frequent exertion of 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force. The incumbent will work in a patient care area, directly with patients, and may be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue.
