The estimated salary for this position is $62,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team. As a Psychosocial Skills Trainer, you will work with individuals to develop and implement tailored treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interview clients to gather information about their mental health history and other relevant details
  • Observe clients to detect signs of abnormal mental behavior
  • Work with licensed mental health professionals to administer therapeutic treatments, such as behavior modification and stress management therapy
  • Discuss progress with clients and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
  • Facilitate relaxation exercises, peer groups, and parenting skills training sessions
  • Refer clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling
  • Monitor client behavior in various settings
  • Link clients and their families with community resources
  • Provide crisis intervention in collaboration with licensed mental health professionals
  • Utilize community resources to help clients resume their lives in the community or adapt to the limitations of a disability

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional relationship with staff, peers, and upper management
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and work rules
  • Obtain required training hours annually

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

Education and/or Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field, or a high school diploma or GED with four years of experience providing direct services in a mental health setting

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
