We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitor II to join our team at Cook County Offices. As a Janitor II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of custodial tasks in designated county buildings and institutional facilities.

• Perform strenuous custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of floors, walls, and windows.
• Operate electrically powered equipment, such as floor waxers and vacuum cleaners.
• Load, unload, and move furniture, materials, and equipment.
• Carry out refuse, shovel snow, and perform other manual tasks related to maintenance of buildings and grounds.
• Arrange chairs, platforms, and other equipment for various assemblies, conferences, and meetings.

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• One (1) year full-time work experience performing cleaning duties with various types of solutions via hand and power-driven equipment in an institution or office building.

This position requires various types of physical exertion, including walking, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, squatting, and moving moderate to heavy weight.

This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, and candidates who are selected to fill this position must pass a required drug test as part of the pre-employment background check.
