Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Infojini Healthcare. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing routine and special procedure imaging, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting radiologists as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and special procedure medical radiographic images utilizing CT assistance
  • Exercise professional judgment in performance of procedures
  • Prepare and position patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol
  • Assume responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produce good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality and completeness
  • Assist physicians during procedures as necessary
  • Perform equipment quality assurance and calibrations as needed, order supplies
  • May be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and accessories
  • Process films or print CDs as needed
  • Perform routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/films, documenting information on patients' requests, Meditech or hospital RIS and PACs digital x-ray system
  • Notify transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to floors
  • Show radiologist films and call reports to the attending physician and document communications if necessary (wet readings)
  • May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor
  • Treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the hospital's behavioral standards
  • Introduce self and educate each patient or family member regarding the examination that is ordered
  • Knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical, and psychosocial needs of different patient populations
  • Perform other related duties as required, attend staff meetings and in-services
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Graduate of an allied health education and accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program, school, or equivalent
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification in nuclear medicine required
  • NY State DOH Radiologic Technologist licensure required
  • BLS certification required

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the department to access patients and paperwork
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with patients who have questions about their bills/financial obligations
  • Must be able to observe and inspect employees and patients in the department
  • Frequently move and position patients for exams
  • May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks
