Job Title: Research Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Analyst to join our team at US Tech Solutions, Inc. in Washington DC. This is a 12-month contract position that requires a strong background in open-source research, digital investigations, and data-driven querying tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct open-source research and identify on-platform presence using open-source methods, on-platform tooling, and fanouts.
  • Audit existing state-controlled media publishers and pages for missing subsidiaries, covert, and linked entities.
  • Research on the activities of labelled state-controlled media publishers, using internal analytical tools and data fields to study if they have covert networks connected to them.
  • Research on media publishers that exhibit borderline affiliation to state organs to determine the nature and depth of the association.
  • Research on overt influence activities of nation-state actors more generally.
  • Work with policy and product on additional enforcement options, intelligence products, and product levers for overt influence actors.
  • Research and triage of commercial entities possibly engaged in violating activities on-platform.
  • Engage internal investigative partners to obtain requirements and share information.
  • Assist in the development of tools and research methods to improve efficiency of processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience conducting open-source research.
  • Familiarity with geopolitical and political analysis.
  • Ability to draw conclusions from data.
  • Experience with data-driven querying tools such as SQL and Python.
  • Familiarity with covert and overt influence operations.
  • Experience in producing and delivering threat intelligence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with network analysis.
  • Experience conducting commercial due diligence.
  • Ability to use Lexis Nexis or other similar research tools.
