Position Summary:
Under the guidance of supervisory staff, the Waste Management Specialist is responsible for the efficient collection and disposal of waste materials within the medical facility. This role emphasizes maintaining cleanliness and safety in all waste management areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitization of designated waste areas, including floors, walls, and collection equipment.
  2. Safely load waste materials onto designated disposal units, ensuring proper handling and maintenance of waste collection sites.
  3. Adhere to all sanitation protocols and procedures established by the medical center.
  4. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including those set by OSHA and the Joint Commission, while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
  5. Deliver courteous service and uphold service recovery principles in daily operations.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
2. Proficiency in using electronic communication devices necessary for operational tasks.
