Sheet Metal Superintendent Job Description

Comprehensive Energy Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Sheet Metal Superintendent to lead our commercial construction team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the supervision of foremen, tradesmen, and subcontractors to ensure project completion within schedule and budget.
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, means and methods, and pre-fabrication plans to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Monitor and control labor costs, ensuring adherence to budgeted man-hours and providing regular feedback to foremen.
  • Collaborate with trade managers and foremen to address labor performance deficiencies, including safety, quality, production, and schedule maintenance.
  • Resolve construction problems, such as lack of productivity, work interfaces, and other issues, as required.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules, utilizing knowledge of equipment capacities and personnel skills.
  • Prepare time and material estimates for directed contract changes and monitor compliance with project and company safety requirements.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance with project documents, codes, and CES quality standards.
  • Evaluate and document the work performance of assigned personnel and ensure accurate and timely preparation of timesheets.
  • Train and supervise lead foremen, foremen, mechanics, and helpers on company policies, safety practices, regulations, and installation procedures.
  • Report workers' compensation injuries to the Safety Manager and Human Resources immediately.
  • Conform to all applicable CES Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform additional assignments per the direction of the Trade Managers and Project Managers.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and graduate of a post-secondary program of instruction of two or more years in duration or completion of an apprenticeship program or similar training program.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial Sheet Metal duct trade supervision experience.
  • Knowledgeable and able to quickly access Florida Mechanical Code, Florida Building Code, and SMACNA standards.
  • OSHA 30 certification, First Aid, CPR, and other relevant safety certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to control and supervise large groups.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in using the internet to research information and intermediate or above skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and CM software platforms like Autodesk Build, Procore, and BIM 360.
