Job Summary:

  • Perform comprehensive fiberglass repairs, including assessment, repair, and maintenance of damaged areas.
  • Apply gelcoat to restore the cosmetic finish and color matching.
  • Prepare surfaces for repair, ensuring proper adhesion.
  • Conduct structural repairs, including hull and deck reinforcements and core replacements when necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional quality and attention to detail in all aspects of the job.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fiberglass Repair: Assess and repair fiberglass damage using appropriate tools and techniques.
  2. Gelcoat Application: Apply gelcoat to restore the cosmetic finish and color matching.
  3. Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for repair, including sanding, grinding, and cleaning.
  4. Structural Repairs: Perform structural repairs, including hull and deck reinforcements and core replacements when necessary.
  5. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards and customer expectations.
  6. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of fiberglass materials, resins, and tools.
  7. Documentation: Accurately document repair work, including materials used, labor hours, and customer information.
  8. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Technical certification in fiberglass repair preferred).
  • Proven experience in fiberglass repair, preferably in a marine or automotive context.
  • Strong knowledge of fiberglass materials, repair techniques, and gelcoat application.
  • Proficiency in the use of fiberglass repair tools and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and repair fiberglass issues.
  • Effective communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in fiberglass repair.
  • Boating or watercraft experience (preferred).

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
