Job Requirements
  • A Master's or Master of Fine Arts degree in drama/theater arts/performance, or a Bachelor's or Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drama/theater arts/performance and a Master's degree in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities.
  • A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Salary and Benefits

The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $85.09 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $19.51 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential. The estimated annual salary for this position is around $50,000-$70,000, depending on the number of hours worked. The Los Angeles Community College District also offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
