Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our Radiology Department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging studies, applying principles of radiation protection, and exercising professional judgment in the performance of imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform imaging duties as assigned, including positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors.
  • Utilize computer systems to record patient status and maintain accurate records.
  • Function proficiently with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality, including CT scanners and other imaging devices.
  • Assist physicians in performing imaging studies and prepare contrast media for administration to patients.
  • Maintain technical imaging equipment to ensure proper working condition and report any malfunctions or housekeeping issues.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and neat, and maintain an adequate inventory of necessary supplies.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
  • Current registry by ARRT within 12 months of hire date.
  • Advanced CT certification required (open to new graduates).
  • Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA).
  • CPR training required.
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
