Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BAS/Controls Technician to join our Critical Facilities team at Gulfstream SP. This key role involves executing start-up functions on mechanical systems, analyzing building control systems' performance, and ensuring accurate and complete documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute start-up functions on mechanical systems based on project plans and specifications, ensuring seamless system integration.
  • Conduct thorough performance analysis of building control systems at the individual building level, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize building automation programs for trend logs, zones, alarms, reports, system backups, user interface graphics, and more, to optimize system performance and efficiency.
  • Understand and modify DDC (Direct Digital Controls) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, ensuring compatibility and optimal system operation.
  • Perform point-to-point checkout of DDC and PLC components, verifying system functionality and accuracy.
  • Commission building control systems and execute field changes/directives efficiently, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability.
  • Train peers and owner/operators on critical responsibilities and building automation systems usage, ensuring knowledge transfer and system continuity.
  • Maintain clear and updated field documentation, including as-built drawing sets, project checkout sheets, and UL Panel Tags, ensuring compliance and regulatory adherence.
Qualifications
  • Proven troubleshooting skills with a high level of computer hardware and software proficiency, ensuring swift and effective issue resolution.
  • Extensive knowledge of DDC Control Theory and Applications, enabling the development of innovative solutions and system improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised, with strong self-motivation and discipline.
  • Strong interactive and communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • AA degree in applied technology or equivalent combination of education and experience, including relevant military experience, ensuring a strong foundation in technical principles and practices.
  • Desired experience in computer programming, building mechanical systems, electronics, and basic electrical circuits, enabling the development of advanced system solutions.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting experience, ensuring the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
  • Local and stable work history is a must, ensuring a strong commitment to the organization and its goals.
