Construction Trades Instructor

Colorado Mountain College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach in the Construction Trades program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses, evaluating student learning, and engaging in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and enhance learning.
Key Responsibilities- Teach courses as assigned by designated supervisor
- Prepare lesson plans and submit course outlines and syllabi to appropriate supervisor
- Develop and submit measurable course objectives and plans
- Develop a relationship with students and staff that is professional and encourages teacher/student communication
- Maintain accurate course records of students and complete course forms as required
- Be available for student consultation
- Assist in the recruitment of students, as appropriate
- Represent the college in a professional manner throughout the communities and college district by promoting a positive public image
- Engage in professional development as required for credentialing
- Credential to teach in the specific program or eligible to be credentialed
- Minimum of a master's degree in a specific degree for the position being recruited or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field
- Minimum of one-year full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor
- Higher education teaching experience preferred
- An equivalent/applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities
- Knowledge with pedagogy, and teaching experience equating to two years
- Strong background in computers and technology
- Excellent organizational skills, general office skills (filing, typing, answering the phone, customer oriented and attention to detail)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn, ability to research and effectively analyze data
- Ability to work independently towards established goals and deadlines
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
