Position Overview
The Mobility Coordinator is responsible for facilitating transportation for participants enrolled at RH Community Builders to various appointments throughout the day. This role also includes the delivery and collection of supplies and medications as required. The incumbent is tasked with maintaining vehicle cleanliness, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring scheduled maintenance is performed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles safely and responsibly, employing defensive driving techniques while adhering to established policies and procedures, and following designated routes.
- Transport individuals, supplies, and equipment to and from specified locations in a safe manner.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting from the vehicle, offering courteous and respectful support as necessary.
- Keep precise records of vehicle mileage, fuel usage, and trip logs.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure cleanliness, proper maintenance, and operational readiness.
- Provide transportation for participants to all scheduled appointments arranged by case managers.
- Transport support staff alongside participants to appointments when required.
- Uphold the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and participant information in any setting.
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Valid California Driver's License held for a minimum of 5 years
- At least one (1) year of documented experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage compassionately with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong customer service abilities, capable of managing challenging situations with composure and professionalism.
- Physical capability to lift and carry moderate loads, as well as assist passengers with mobility needs.
- Prior commercial driving experience is highly preferred.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as necessary.
