Job OverviewThis role is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical assemblies, performing retrofits, and setting up and aligning system components. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential to meet customer expectations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Service Calls and Maintenance: Respond promptly to service calls, perform maintenance tasks, and troubleshoot issues with mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Component Assembly: Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to engineering-approved drawings, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Design and Fabrication: Design, fabricate, and modify parts as required, utilizing knowledge of machining and toolmaking principles.
- Machine Integration: Support machine build integration, including setup, alignment, and installation tasks.
- Debugging and Quality Assurance: Assist the Lead Machine Builder in debugging efforts and participate in quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Customer Support: Travel to customer sites for installation, reintegration, and training on system operation.
Requirements:
- A certificate in machining/toolmaking or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as a fine-tune machine assembler or service technician for automation assembly machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with 24V sensors and pneumatics.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel extensively (over 75%) both domestically and internationally.
