Position Overview

Job Summary

The Cannabis Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in managing daily inventory operations and supporting the Inventory Manager at both the retail and processing sectors of Grow Op Farms. This position is essential for ensuring that inventory counts and shipments are precise and compliant with industry regulations.

In this role, you will assist in the verification and receipt of product shipments, as well as the systematic organization of products in storage and on the sales floor. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all products are accurately recorded in the California Track and Trace system (METRC) and the Point of Sale (POS) system, and that they are properly labeled before being moved to the inventory area and sales floor.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is set at $18 per hour. Previous experience in the cannabis industry is highly desirable, particularly familiarity with platforms such as Dutchie and Weedmaps.

Key Responsibilities

To excel in this role, the individual must effectively carry out the following essential duties:

  • Organize and track product inventory.
  • Package online, curbside, and in-store orders efficiently.
  • Stay informed about and ensure compliance with all local, state, and Bureau of Cannabis Control regulations.
  • Barcode all new inventory and verify that it scans correctly in the Point of Sale system.
  • Assist with daily and weekly cycle counts, as well as inventory evaluation and verification processes.
  • Notify the Inventory Manager promptly of any discrepancies for thorough investigation.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory Manager/Lead to maintain accurate records of non-stock and unavailable inventory.
  • Implement cannabis waste management procedures, including scheduling and execution.
  • Develop a calendar for tracking upcoming product expirations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of all quarantined products.
  • Operate in strict adherence to the Bureau of Cannabis Control regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience in inventory management within a retail setting.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with METRC or similar cannabis seed-to-sale tracking software is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds safely.
  • Capability to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry products as necessary for customer service and inventory management.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the business.
