The Multimodality Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnosis of disease and injury by performing imaging procedures in two or more disciplines, with a focus on advanced modalities such as CT, MR, or Nuc Med. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality multimodality procedures according to established protocols and in a timely manner.
- Utilize effective communication skills to educate patients and their families about the test to be performed and assess their ability to tolerate the exam.
- Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, ensuring proper positioning and immobilization devices are used.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control policies, and radiation protocols.
- Maintain equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards, reporting issues to management as needed.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient information, including medical history, pregnancy status, and shielding precautions taken.
- Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology.
- Less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Certification in two imaging modalities, with a 50% focus in an advanced modality.
