Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Red Rock Job Corps Center. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to our students. Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion control, and nutritional guidelines. Collaborate with the culinary team to create diverse and appealing menus.
  • Cooking and Baking: Execute cooking and baking tasks with precision, producing high-quality dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Contribute to the overall dining experience through your culinary expertise.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards. Monitor and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal of food items.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Cook, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Support in inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible and adapt to changing needs and schedules. Assist in catering for special events and accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff and students as needed. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Prefer previous experience in food service. Must be able to obtain ServSafe credentials.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
