Job Description

Job Summary:

The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of shipments. This includes verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and arranging for the transportation of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare shipping documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
  • Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.
  • Coordinate with carrier representatives to arrange for shipping and delivery.
  • Resolve issues related to damages, shortages, or non-conformance to specifications.
  • Verify shipment contents against records, such as manifests and invoices.
  • Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
  • Organize packaging procedures to ensure safe shipment.
  • Ensure accurate product labeling and packaging.
  • Use manual and electric pallet jackets as needed.
  • Coordinate with the shipping team to ensure timely and safe loading of shipments.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Use of handheld RF Gun experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • PC literacy and strong data entry, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to operate Barcode printers, handheld barcode scanners, and high-speed/moving object scanning devices.
  • Prior experience operating WMS systems, such as P21, UPS, and FEDEX Worldwide Ship systems.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • General problem-solving/analysis capabilities.
