About the Role:

WestRock is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at the West Point Mill. As a key member of our multi-craft team, you will be responsible for providing primary Machinist skills with secondary skills in welding and millwrighting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary Machinist skills with secondary skills in welding and millwrighting.
  • Work in a job shop, repairs facility, or in maintenance machine work environment.
  • Use various measurement tools including micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Work with all types of metals and handle different types of metals.
  • Read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Have high attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.

Requirements:

  • Five years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman machinist level, or
  • Two-year technical degree in machining technology, or
  • Four years' relevant technical military experience as machinist
  • Non-CNC machining preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills
