Our Behavioral Health Unit is a 281-bed acute-care hospital serving over 350,000 residents in Etowah and surrounding counties. We offer a range of services, including the only accredited Cath Lab in Northeast Alabama, Sleep Lab, Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center, and Women's Diagnostic Imaging Center.

As a Nursing Assistant in our Behavioral Health Unit, you will work under the direction and supervision of our Registered Nurses to provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting our patients' physical and emotional needs.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate, current BLS certification, and a minimum of six months' experience in an acute care hospital or physicians' office. You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients, under the direction of Registered Nurses
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, including restocking supplies and equipment
  • Support patients' physical and emotional needs, including providing emotional support and reassurance

Qualifications:

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum six months' experience in an acute care hospital or physicians' office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
