Position Overview:

This position involves the precise cutting of various meats into specified portions and the preparation of related products according to company standards. The role is essential in contributing to the overall financial success of the store while fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accurately cut and weigh meat portions for individual servings.
  2. Produce value-added products in accordance with established guidelines.
  3. Trim and bone meat sections to prepare cooking cuts.
  4. Follow recipes to grind, tray meats, and create sausage and other products.
  5. Label, date, and package meat products according to established protocols.
  6. Maintain well-stocked and organized shelves, cases, and displays.
  7. Communicate with management regarding inventory needs.
  8. Receive, unload, and stock merchandise efficiently.
  9. Possess comprehensive knowledge of all products within the department, including their pricing, flavor profiles, and uses.
  10. Utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance customer experience.
  11. Ensure a clean, appealing, and well-maintained department.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred one (1) year of experience in retail or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a meat cutting or apprentice role is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents effectively.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of product knowledge.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this role include the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The position requires standing and walking for extended periods, as well as frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and turning. The work environment is typical of a retail setting, with exposure to varying temperatures and outside weather conditions.
