Job Summary

The Pharmacy Operations Manager plays a crucial role in the Department of Pharmacy, overseeing daily operations and leading a team of pharmacy personnel. This position requires exceptional leadership and management skills, as well as strong communication abilities to interact effectively with all members of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides effective leadership to the Department of Pharmacy through direct management of pharmacy employees and daily operations.
  • Identifies opportunities for new or enhanced pharmacy services to support the organization's mission and leads performance improvement efforts to strengthen existing systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Serves as an ambassador for the organization's vision and goals, expressing ideas clearly and effectively to various audiences.
  • Demonstrates excellence in personnel management by identifying team members' strengths and assisting employees in leveraging those strengths in their work.
  • Applies financial concepts and tools to analyze situations and make decisions that support departmental objectives.
  • Maintains focus on key stakeholders and supports the unit's ability to deliver on valid stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and JCAHO standards related to pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical care.
  • Identifies personal professional development needs and maintains a plan for continued growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Supervisory and management experience in a large tertiary care hospital setting and/or completion of a residency program
  • Licensed Pharmacist - State Board of Pharmacy within 120 days
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
